Job Description and QualificationsThis position is responsible for coordinating manufacturing activities related to equipment fabricated at our Air Products' Port Manatee Facility in Palmetto, FL. The facility primarily manufactures heat exchangers that are used throughout the world to liquefy natural gas to facilitate transportation of LNG. Each project is outstanding and presents one-of-a-kind challenges.This position is part of the Project Execution Group, which consists of Project Engineering, Proposals Engineering, Methods Specialists and Document Control functions at the facility. Due to the complexity of products and the uniqueness of each individual project, significant and continuous effort must be applied to coordinate the activities of the manufacturing process within the facility. The role includes being the principal point of contact for the coordination of activities with Air Products' Engineering Departments, Procurement, Business Area, Customer Representatives, and Third-Party Engineers, Suppliers, and Inspectors.The successful candidate will be assigned multiple projects and will be responsible for schedule development, cost reporting and forecasting, monthly status reporting, risk management and mitigation. Your responsibilities will be to ensure assigned projects are driven according to the existing facility Quality Management procedures.Key skills required to be successful in this role include prior project management experience (preferably in metal fabrication or construction), an understanding of pressure vessel or process equipment fabrication, scheduling, cost forecasting, risk analysis, and experience using SAP. Additionally, the successful Project Engineer must have the ability to communicate clearly and easily and influence the various departments within the facility to ensure established critical success factors and project requirements are met.Principal responsibilitiesSingle point of contact for assigned projectsProject schedule development and identification of critical path and risksManagement of project in accordance with the schedule and budgetLead and Report Key Performance Measure for timely completionMonitor cost performance and identify gapsPrepare monthly cost forecastsLead and report Key Performance Measures for cost performance and Cost of Non-ConformanceIdentify risk associated with assigned projects and develop action plans to mitigatePerform third party spec reviews and evaluationsDevelop Project Execution StrategyCoordinate and present Monthly Project Review Meetings to managementQualifications / requirementsBS degree is required, preferably in Engineering or BusinessMinimum of 7 years' Project Engineering experience, preferably with 2 years' experience in metal fabrication with an understanding of pressure vessel or process equipment fabricationMinimum of 2 years' experience with scheduling and cost forecastingAbility to work in a team environment and maintain a positive disposition even in times of high stress and workloadAbility to work optimally with a global team, interfacing with team members in various countries, as well as management in the USAbility to work independently, being accountable for accomplishing work with minimal directionStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to take initiative with an entrepreneurial demeanorExcellent written, verbal, computer, and interpersonal communication skillsAt Air Products, we work in an environment where diversity is essential, inclusion is our culture, and each person knows they belong and matter.
