Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy is seeking a technical individual to be part of the
FPL Power Generation team. Associate PGD Engineer shall be
responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the large
scale universal solar facilities inside the state of Florida. This
position will report to the Solar & Storage FL Engineering Leader,
under the Power Generation Team.
Work location flexible based upon closest site to residence.
This individual is responsible as the site safety manager to ensure
all personnel and equipment onsite are safe and that the site/s are
in environmental compliance with all required regulatory permit
requirements. Under limited guidance, the individual will perform a
variety of routine tasks, which provide experience and familiarity
with Engineering staff, methods, practices, and programs after
which may independently evaluate, select, and apply standard
engineering techniques and procedures while using judgment when
making adaptions and modifications. Engineers on the FPL solar team
can spend a significant amount of time in the field (outside)
troubleshooting and repairing all aspects of our solar facilities.
This individual will also be tasked with managing inventory for the
region. At times,Associate PGD Engineer will be on-call and
responsible for the FL Sites, coordinating with the Renewables
Operation Control Center, OEM's, Vendors and Contractors as
required.
Engineer should be highly motivated with a strong bias for action
and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering highly preferred.
Job Overview
This job is responsible for routine engineering assignments
involving basic engineering techniques. Employees in this role
apply practical applications of engineering principles, practices,
and procedures and work under close supervision with detailed
instructions.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Performs data analysis and basic engineering tasks for completion
of small projects
Performs basic engineering calculations required for simple
designs
Collects and evaluates data to recommend courses of action
Assists more experienced engineers in the completion of large
complex projects
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
