• Special Procedures Job Summary and Responsibilities: The Registered Nurse (RN is responsible for the safe delivery and documentation of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Directs and coordinates nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practices standards subscribed to and by the American Nursing Association and in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Ace and other regulatory standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and desired patient outcomes. Supports the SMHCS mission and vision and in doing so, uses knowledge of patient age and cultural diversity in providing exceptional patient care and serves as a role model for professional nursing. Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years of recent acute care experience. Preferred experience in one of the following specialties: ED, ICU, Med/Tele, and Angioplasty/ Special Procedures.
  • Graduate of an accredited school or nursing or diploma program.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certified through the American Heart Association
  • ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support

      Required Qualifications
      
      - Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) required within three (3) years of hire date.- Require two (2) years of relevant work experience.- Require successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia test within 90 days of employment. - Require Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of hire. - Require National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale certification within thirty (30) days of hire.- Require basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
      Preferred Qualifications
      
      - Prefer certification in nursing specialty area.
