• Full service 28-bed facility plus eight-bed FastTrack
• Two trauma/resuscitation rooms
• External decontamination unit for mass disaster
• Primary stroke center
• Chest pain center
• Obstetric emergency care
• X-ray and imaging
• Future expansion plans for a 50-bed center Job Summary and Responsibilities:
  
  The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the safe delivery and documentation of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Directs and coordinates nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practices standards subscribed to and by the American Nursing Association and in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Ace and other regulatory standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and desired patient outcomes. Supports the SMHCS mission and vision and in doing so, uses knowledge of patient age and cultural diversity in providing exceptional patient care and serves as a role model for professional nursing.

    Required Qualifications
    • Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) required within three (3) years of hire date.
    • Require a minimum of one (1) year of emergency RN experience.
    • Require the follow certifications upon completion of department orientation: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) National Institute of Health (NIH) Stroke PSA/ACE (during orientation) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Crisis Intervention
    • Require the following courses/certifications within one (1) year of completing department orientation: Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) Note: All certifications must be maintained thereafter.
    • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certified through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
    • State of FL RN Licensure Preferred Qualifications
      
      - Prefer certification in nursing specialty area.
