First Physicians Group of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is actively recruiting a 3rd physician to join its established Urology practice in Venice, Florida. The new physician will be employed by First Physicians Group, formed in 1994 by Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Now, more than 29 years later, we continue to be one of the best and strongest providers of primary and specialty care in the region.
SMH-Venice Hospital is located on a 65-acre campus and features a 365,000-square-foot, 5 story hospital with 110 private patient suites, a 28-bed emergency care center, 8 surgical suites.--
With work already underway on a third patient tower to add 68 private patient suites, SMH-Venice has plans in place to more than double in size to 400 private inpatient suites, 16 surgical suites and a 50-bed ER. The expansion will also bring Sarasota Memorial's extensive physician base farther south and help build the medical staff for the SMH-North Port Hospital set to break ground in 2025.
Highlights of the Position:

• Join an employed, collegial, and supportive group of two Urologists and one PA.
  
• Significant patient volume; expect to be at capacity within six months.
  
• Urologist with any sub-specialty interests is encouraged to apply.
  
• On staff at one hospital - Sarasota Memorial Hospital-Venice
  
• General Urology to advanced robotic procedures with a daVinci Xi, you choose the practice you want to build.
  
• All urologic equipment is brand new.
  
• Block Surgical time is available.
  
• Very efficient OR allowing a Urologist to complete numerous surgeries per day.
  
• Conduct the full range of In-Office procedures and diagnostic studies with office support staff.
  
• Large number of employed Primary Care providers creates a healthy, loyal referral network.
  
• Consult only service at hospital, all inpatient care is managed by our employed Hospitalist Group.
  
• Equitable call sharing, ER call is 1:6.
  Required Qualifications:
  
  • MD or DO from an accredited school of medicine.
    
  • Board Certified preferred; Board Eligible will be considered.
    
  • Active Florida license or eligible for a FL license
