First Physicians Group of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is accepting CVs from interested OB/GYNs seeking an opportunity in one of the fastest growing communities on the West Coast of Florida. The opportunity will be to join a busy and growing group in Venice, Florida.--The new physician will be employed by First Physicians Group, formed in 1994 by Sarasota Memorial Hospital.--Now more than 29 years later, we continue to be one of the best and strongest providers of primary and specialty care in the region.--
SMH-Venice Hospital is located on a 65-acre campus and features a 365,000-square-foot, 5 story hospital with 110 private patient suites, a 28-bed emergency care center, 8 surgical suites and an inpatient rehabilitation / recovery gym.-- A 2 story, 60,000-square-foot medical office building (MOB) for physician and specialty care practices is connected to the hospital, and is where the OB/GYN practice is conveniently located.
With work already underway on a third patient tower to add 68 private patient suites, SMH-Venice has the capacity to more than double in size to 400 private inpatient suites, 16 surgical suites and a 50-bed ER.-- The expansion also will bring Sarasota Memorial's extensive physician base farther south and help build the medical staff for the SMH-North Port Hospital set to break ground in 2025.--
SMH-Venice is equipped with 10 LDRPs, 2 C-Section ORs, and 4 triage beds. The hospital currently has 6 ORs and a daVinci XI Robot. It is a Level I nursery, accepting patients who are 35+ weeks. --The practice began delivering babies in December 2021 and to-date has welcomed 100+ babies.-- Sarasota Memorial Hospital, located 17 miles North, is the only hospital in Sarasota County providing a Level III NICU.--
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Join a busy and established practice.
  
• Provide Outpatient Obstetrics & Gynecologic Care.
  
• Perform C-Sections and--Gynecologic surgeries/procedures.
  
• Perform and cover deliveries for physicians in the group in equal rotation.
  
• On staff at one hospital
  
• OB Hospitalist group provides 24/7 coverage for unassigned patients
  
• Anesthesia coverage 24/7 and a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner on call 24/7
  
• Office hours are 8:00AM to 4:30PM, Monday - Friday
  
• On average seeing 20 patients a day.
  
• Block scheduling in surgery available.
  Required Qualifications:
  
  • Board Eligible / Board-Certified OB/GYN
    
  • Licensed in Florida and holds a current DEA Certificate
    
  • Graduate of an ACGME accredited OB/GYN program
