Educational Requirements
High school diploma required
Position Requirements
Training and/or expertise qualifying the individual to operate
floor care equipment and perform assigned duties related to floor
care within the nursing facility.
Job Specific Details:
Job Summary
This split position is responsible to the Housekeeping Supervisor
for total floor care at the facility and assisting the Maintenance
Supervisor in maintenance and repair work.

Residents Rights
? Knows and respects patients rights
? Ensures protected health information is kept confidential
? Reports complaints made by patients to supervisor
? Reports allegations of patient abuse, neglect and/or
misappropriation of patient property
Safety and Sanitation
? Follows established safety policies and procedures
? Observes safety needs of patients as indicated in care plan
? Wears and/or uses safety equipment and supplies when indicated
and properly trained to use
? Demonstrates job-specific knowledge of fire and disaster
preparedness during drills or actual situations
Staff Development
? Attends and participates in scheduled in-service training,
educational classes and meetings
? Participates in QAA Process
? Attends and participates in Circle of Care classes
Floor Care Responsibilities
? Receives assignment from supervisor and follows schedule to wash,
seal, wax and buff all floors in the facility
? Maintains equipment used in performing duties
? Waters and cleans large plants in building
? Keeps grounds cleared of debris. Sweeps front entrance and patio
areas, cleans ash trays, and ensure outside furniture is clean and
usable
? Performs assignments from the Maintenance Supervisor which could
include checking and replacing light bulbs, cleaning lint from
dryers, vents and registers in patient rooms and other areas
? Hoses out garbage cans
? Assists with performing fire drills
? Washes windows and screens outside the building as assigned
? Assists with lubricating potty-chair, wheelchairs, shower chairs,
wheeled Geri chairs, drug carts, etc.
? Utilizes supplies and equipment properly and without waste;
Returns any unused supplies to proper area; Leaves
soiled materials and trash in designated areas, and cleans carts
and equipment
? Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be
required
Education
? High school diploma preferred
Experience
? Training and/or expertise qualifying the individual to operate
equipment and perform assigned duties within the nursing center
Physical Demands
? Medium. Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or
carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds; Including climbing,
balancing, stooping and crouching
Travel
? N/A
Working Conditions
? Inside and outside; Includes working in conditions involving
noise and vibration
Principal Contacts
? Works closely with Maintenance/Housekeeping Supervisor

standards of cleanliness, grooming, hygiene, and dress code.
